CES 2015: LG G Flex 2 is the First Smartphone with Snapdragon 810 Chipset and More
As expected LG has launched its curved
display smartphone LG G Flex 2 at CES 2015
and it is feature loaded to the brim. LG has
taken a huge leap with its second generation
curved surface smartphone but the basics
remain the same.
Besides the dynamic curve, the self healing
technology is now much faster. LG claims
that minor scratches can now heal in just 10
seconds (vs 3 minutes in G Flex). This is
also the first smartphone to feature.
This time the 5.5 Inch curved display has a
more reasonable 1080p full HD resolution
(LG G Flex had a 6 Inch 720p HD display)
which is better suited to this high end
device. The Gorilla Glass 3 on top has been
toughened (LG calls this Dura-Gaurd Glass),
resulting in 30% more durable smartphone.
LG cited the same reasons for why you need
a curved display smartphone after all.
The curved surface makes the phone nicer
to hold against your ears and brings the
microphone closer for better call quality. We
will let you judge if that is convincing
enough.
The full HD resolution and Android 5.0
lollipop based ROM will be fired by 2.0 GHz
64 Bit Octa Core Snapdragon 810 processor
backed by 2 GB DDR4 RAM and 16 GB/ 32
GB expandable storage.
The LG G Flex 2 features a 13.0 MP rear
camera with optical image stabilization (OIS
+), dual-LED two-tone flash , and laser-
guided autofocus, similar to the camera
module in LG G3. A 2.1 MP front camera is
also present which isn’t particularly selfie
focused.
The 3000 mAh battery supports fast charging
and can charge to 50 percent in 40 minutes.
LG has included 3 new gesture controls –
Gesture Shot (for taking selfies), Gesture
View (to view last shot images) and Glance
View (let’s you see notification on lock
screen).
LG G Flex 2 measures 149.1 x 75.3 x 7.1 –
9.4mm and weighs moderate 152 grams.
Other connectivity features include 4G /
LTE / HSPA+ 21/42 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/
g/n/ac, Bluetooth Smart Ready (Apt-X) 4.1,
NFC, SlimPort, A-GPS / Glonass, and USB
2.0.
